John 3:16 — Seven Golden Themes
John 3:16 is often called the golden verse of the Bible—for good reason. In this series we explore its seven golden themes one by one:
1) God — the greatest Being.
2) Love — the purest action.
3) Gift — the indescribable gift: His only begotten Son.
etc.
Spoken to Nicodemus in the night, Jesus recalls Israel’s desperate moment in the wilderness: the bronze serpent—“look and live” (Num 21:8–9). John 3:14–16 declares its fulfillment: the Son of Man is lifted up—believe and live.
Series aim: to see how God’s character, love, and gift open the way to eternal life—calling us out of darkness to look to Christ and live.
